How is the weather in Marbella?

Marbella is located 22 meters above sea level. This area includes the coastal strip extending from the Guadalhorce to the limit of the province of Cádiz, with the common denominator of being protected by steep coastal mountains: Sierra de Mijas, Sierra Blanca or the foothills of the Serrania, which it is beneficial for the climate and attractive landscape.

Due to its geographical location and the mountain ranges that surround it, Marbella enjoys a unique microclimate in the world where the weather stations pose no major changes, allowing us to enjoy an average temperature of 19 ° C.
Some rain, less than 50 rainy days occur with the months of November and December the higher rainfall. The most common is the Levante wind and the sun shines over 320 days a year.

Where can I play golf nearby?

There are several Golf Clubs in Marbella, including La Quinta (27 holes), Los Naranjos (18), Las Brisas (18) and Aloha (18). You may also want to visit the 1998 Ryder Cup Course of Valderrama. Are trains easy to use?

Yes but the nearest station is Fuengirola, from there you can travel to Malaga and from Malaga to anywhere. Prices are cheap and quality is good.

What are the local bus routes?

Line 4 follows a circular route between Marbella, Puerto Banus La Campana and San Pedro. There is a bus station at San Pedro.
Line 25 operates between Marbella, Puerto Banus La Campana, San Pedro and Estepona. From Marbella buses run everywhere including Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba as well as all the nearby places such as Ronda and Ojen.
The airport is serviced by a direct bus from Marbella taking only 45 minutes and running almost every hour at a price of less than €5.

What are the shop opening hours?

Shops are generally open between 10am and 2pm and again between 5pm and 8pm – Monday to Friday. Supermarkets tend to keep longer hours. On Saturdays most of the smaller shops are closed in the afternoon. Larger shops and department stores are open from 9am though till 9pm or 10pm Monday to Saturday. Sunday will probably see most shops closed, although some supermarkets may choose to offer a limited opening.

What are the nearest Supermarkets and shopping centres

The nearest supermarket is Supersol Cortijo Blanco.(c/ manuel de falla,1): open from 9:00 to 22:00.
In Puerto Banús there’s El Corte Inglés shopping centre: from 10:00 to 22:00 (winter) –from 10:30 to 23:30 (July-August).
At the entrance of Puerto Banús, on the corner of Playas del Duque there’s also a Supercor supermarket, open from 8:00 to 00:00 where you can find everything you need.
Above Marbella you have La Cañada shopping centre: from 10:00 to 22:00.

A number of excellent restaurants are only minutes walk or drive from the apartment.

What is the nightlife like in Marbella?

The nightlife in Marbella is incredible, with a huge choice of alfresco bars, casinos, piano clubs and discos.

Why do visitors choose Marbella?

Marbella has something for everyone, from the beaches of the Costa del Sol to the traditional Spanish hillside villages. Many visitors are attracted to the numerous golf courses in the area, particularly in the warm winter months.

How do I get from the airport to the apartment?

Most of the popular car hire firms operate from Malaga airport. See the “Car Hire” link on this web site to access their details. Alternatively, taxis are available from outside the airport The ride to VDM costs about 80€.
There’s also a direct bus from the Airport to Marbella Bus Station.

Which airport do I fly into?

The closest airport is Malaga, which is approximately a 45 minute drive to the apartment.

Do I need to hire a car?

It might be handy to have a car for easy access to local amenities and shopping, however it is possible to take a Bus from the airport to Marbella where you can grab a taxi to the apartment. Bus 21 runs regularly on the N340 between Marbella and Puerto Banús.

Could I walk into town?

Once on the beach side track, its a ten minute walk into Puerto Banús, and a similar distance to the amenities on the board walk of San Pedro.

How far away is the nearest beach?

The complex is located first-line beach. The pool area of the complex connects directly with the board walk and the beach. Through a gate that you can open with your room/complex key-card. There are many other beaches to explore along the Costa del Sol coastline.

Is there wheelchair access?

Yes. The paths towards the lifts don’t have steps, but can be a bit steep. The duplex apartments only have a staircase leading to the bedroom upstairs.

Is there parking at the apartment?

The apartment has underground parking (free) and has a plentiful supply of on street parking around the complex, but it can get busy in July and August.

Is there a safe-box?

Yes, each apartment has a free to use safe.

How secure is the apartment?

The apartments are enclosed behind electric gates which are accessed by card. Each apartment is accessed through a an entrance door with electronic lock. The apartment has an alarm system and the complex has 24 hour security guard surveillance.

Are pets permitted?

No pets are not permitted.

Is smoking permitted?

Smoking is permitted on terraces and outside areas.

Are pools in commission all year & are they heated?

The pools are maintained and in commission all year round. Some guests do swim in the winter months even though the water does tend to be on the cold side from November through to the end of March. Sometimes pool equipment breaks or needs maintenance. We cannot be held responsible if a pool is not in commission due to circumstances beyond our control though every effort will be made to solve any problem as quickly as possible. The pools are not heated.

Is the apartment heated in the winter?

All properties have winter heating, either air conditioning or underfloor heating, oil filled radiators.

Is there Air Conditioning?

Is there a telephone?

There is no fixed phone, but there’s WIFI throughout the apartment with which you can use VOIP services such as Skype.

What is provided?

Bed linen, bathroom towels, beach towels, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and more.

Is there a washing machine in the apartment?

Yes, the apartment is fitted with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Is it a self catering apartment?

Yes, and the kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, an oven, a hob, a microwave, and a fridge/freezer.

Will I need an adaptor for using the appliances in the apartment?

For all appliances supplied in the apartments you will not need continental European adaptors. Hairdryers are supplied but to operate other bathroom appliances which you might bring on your travels like electric shavers, curling irons etc., you will need a continental European adaptor.

Can I drink the water?

The tap water in Marbella is clean and safe to drink throughout the city. However, some areas have a higher sodium content and may taste bitter to some. We generally recommend to stock up on bottled water for drinking at the local grocery store.

Is the apartment suitable for children?

Yes.

Do you have a cot available for babies?

Yes, these can be pre-booked.

We require a second apartment, are there any more in the same complex available to rent?

Yes, we have 9 short term apartments available. Please contact us for further details.

Will the apartment be cleaned?

Our maid service will visit the apartment at the end of each visitor’s stay and prior to new visitors arriving. All bed linen and towels will have been freshly prepared prior to your arrival. Extra cleaning services (during your stay) can be booked additionally.

Can the changeover day be varied?

Yes, in the winter months only. Whilst in the summer we have to adhere to the stipulated changeover day, in the winter we can be more flexible to fit in with your travel arrangements.

What if I need help or information during my stay?

There will be a member of VDM available to answer any of your questions during business hours.

Will I have a local contact?

Yes, you will be provided with the name and local phone number of our representative who you can call if you have any unforeseen problems or if you require advice on anything.

How will I get the keys to the apartment?

At apartment 602 of Ventura del Mar, we have an office where we’ll receive you, do the check-in and hand over the keys. We’ll also show you around the apartment.

What happens if I break something?

Please call our administration as soon as possible to assess the damage. We will do our best to try and fix or replace the item/s and reach a decision if whether there is any charge incurred.

Will I need to pay a damage deposit for the apartment?

Yes, there is a 500€ damage deposit which will need to be paid upon arrival at the apartment in Marbella.

How do I cancel my reservation?

If the client cancels a fully paid reservation, there is a cancellation charge that will depend on the number of days before the beginning of the rental period. Please note that the 30% reservation deposit is non-refundable.

How do I pay for the booking?

You will be required to pay 30% of your reservation to confirm your booking, the Balance must be paid upon arrival.

What time is Check in/ Check out?

You can enter your room from 15h on the day of arrival. Check-out is by 11-12 midday, with the option of late check-out depending on availability.

Is there mountain bike hire in Marbella?

We have partnerships with many of Whistler’s premier sports shops and rental companies which give you exclusive discounts on equipment rental and activities.

How can I get from Malaga Airport to Ventura Del Mar?

There are regular scheduled bus transfers from Vancouver International Airport or downtown Vancouver.

Do we need a car in Marbella?

How far is the Puerto Banús Shopping from Ventura Del Mar?

Belle Vue is the closest Bed and Breakfast Inn to Whistler Village, lifts and amenities. We are an easy eight-minute stroll from the village, along a footpath that skirts the woods.
